Fox and The Simpsons...
Today, Fox re-aired an episode of the Simpsons this evening - but it's not the episode that I care about but the warning Fox aired before the episode. I hope to get the authentic screen shot off my TiVo later, but until that can happen here's the general idea. "This show depicts gay marriage. Viewer discretion is advised." I didn't know that was something we had to gaurd against in prime time t.v. Guard against violence, drugs, poverty, war but not fucking marriage. And I know this may come as a shock but gay marriage is marriage people - like it or not.

You have to remember that Fox is trying desperatley to play both sides of the fence.
Cutting Edge and Daring, forever pushing the envelope..
But let's try to not piss off the radical conservatives so they don't go and protest and/or start huge letter-writing campaigns.
I'm just suprised with what McFarlane's been able to get away with on the new Family Guy Episodes!
Last week it was "You've Got The AIDS (The Musical)" and just last sunday it was "The Pilot must have been JFK Jr.! My, even *I* found that to be in poor taste."
I think my point is that something like gay marriage shouldn't even provoke a second thought in people. Marriage is marriage. Who knows maybe I'm the only one who thinks this but I don't think so. Cudos to Fox for being innovative and "pushing the envelope" but sham on them for not standing fully behind it and whimping out.
